Return To The Magic Forest

 

In 2013 as part of a participatory arts development process with Dominics Community Centre, Tallaght I worked with a group of children and women to create a modern fable that responded to the environment and the need to Reduce Reuse and Recycle.

 

Working with Tallaght Community Arts Director, Tony Fegan we devised 

Return To The Magic Forest that positioned the young people rescuing and restoring the forest goddesses to their rightful places.

 

I designed masks and grand hats for our four goddesses played by four women who were performing for first time.

 

Their entrance in their hats provoked a near riot amongst the audience of family, friends and their local community.

 

All the costumes and props were made from recycled materials.
