UNWRAPPED 2012 took as its inspiration, The Selfish Giant, by Oscar Wilde. I created an 18-foot giant puppet and illuminated child puppet in partnership with fellow artist Jackie Gray.

Established in 2009 UNWRAPPED has evolved over the last 8 years as a FREE Winter Festival of Lights for all the family. The festival event is located in Tallaght and marks the beginning of winter festive season across South Dublin County.

 

UNWRAPPED has established itself as an original outdoor performance with commissioned artists, fantastic costumes and a specially commissioned music score and has continued to evolve.

 

The event involves 200 participants of all ages and cultural backgrounds from across the county working with artists to create an interactive original FREE performance for family audience of up to 500 people.

 

I have been the resident Design Artist with UNWRAPPED since its inception.

 

Since the beginning we have used a combination of LED lit costumes and illuminated paper lanterns and sculptures.
